After deciding that you want to seek help from a trainer, the next step is choosing a trainer. That ends up being much more complicated than first thought. After you select a trainer, then you are faced with choosing how you want to go about the training process. A common thought is that the options are large group class or private sessions. But, with me that's not the case. My group classes are semi-private (only two dogs per class). This allows for socialization, distractions, yet removes the stress a large group can present. I recognize that both dogs and humans can be introverts, so my training options are directed towards those who lean more towards that for their comfort level.
Below is a list of your training options with me and a brief description of each one.
**Due to the high heat in the Tri-Cities, there will not be afternoon training sessions to prevent the dogs (and their people) from becoming too hot during late spring and summer months.
One-on-One Sessions
One-on-One sessions consist of you, your dog(s) and anyone in your household that will be part of the training process. Make a list of the behaviors you struggle with and we will chip away at the list each session.
Play & Learn Small Group Sessions
Play & Learn Groups are great for dogs of all ages! These groups will be split up by the size of the dog. This will help build confidence in dogs that are unsure or nervous around other dogs, as well as keep the groups small. Due to the small group sizes, space will be limited in each size category.
These Play & Learn Groups will be five (5) sessions per group and will be held on Saturday mornings. Dress appropriately for the weather, we will be outdoors.
In these Play & Learn Groups, you and your dog will learn dog body language, practice coming when called when distracted, get an opportunity to work on leash reactive behavior, socialize with other dogs, and other people.
**If you have concerns about how your dog may behave when first meeting other dogs or people, please schedule a private session with me first.
**No children under 11 years old. Children must be able to follow instructions, and will not be allowed to run around as they will be actively participating in the group.

- Your dog might get dirty
- Clothing for small dogs: Snug-fitting sweaters are okay. Nothing bulky, or with attached decorations.
- Collars: All dogs must wear well-fitting quick-release buck collars (plastic or metal snap-type buckle). If your dog has a history of slipping out of its collar you can put your dog in a harness or martingale collar (these must also have quick-release closures).
